{"id":55,"date":"2014-01-08T16:51:25","date_gmt":"2014-01-08T14:51:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/musicworks.org.za\/wordpress\/?page_id=55"},"modified":"2022-03-08T14:38:11","modified_gmt":"2022-03-08T12:38:11","slug":"funders","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/musicworks.org.za\/wpmusicworks\/funders\/","title":{"rendered":"MusicWorks Supporters"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-default\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"has-neve-link-color-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\">Partnerships &amp; Collaborations<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">We recognise that systemic change is only possible through collaboration and partnerships with both local and international stakeholders who share our vision, commitment and values.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Music Therapy Internships<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">MusicWorks has a long-established relationship with the Music Therapy Department at the University of Pretoria.\u00a0 Each year, final year Masters in Music Therapy students are placed at MusicWorks as part of their practical internship which is supervised by MusicWorks\u2019 therapists.\u00a0 At the start of each academic year, MusicWorks runs a student block on Community Music Therapy for the 1<sup>st<\/sup> year Masters students. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, Norwegian and Israeli universities sent their students to us because our unique approach in a complex context provides their students with valuable training experience. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Strategic partnerships<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Depending on the themes for discussion, we invite specialist organisations and\/or individuals to present on their areas of expertise related to our programme outcomes to enhance our interventions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Leading a Community of Practise<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">MusicWorks took the lead in establishing a national network of individuals, organisations or programmes engaged in arts-based activities organised to promote the psychosocial health and wellbeing of individuals and communities. This community embraces both the therapeutic model and a developmental approach, within a cultural framework. &nbsp;Focus areas include:&nbsp; <a><\/a>Delivering good and effective practice with significant impact and in a sustainable way; &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Sharing and disseminating knowledge in support of good and effective practice;<\/li><li>Collectively advocating the value and impact of artistic intervention; and<\/li><li>Generating local research<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>School management and leadership<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The success of the programme is highly dependent on the enabling environment created by the local management and leadership of the schools where we implement our programmes.
